Yang Arif, saya dengan rendah dirinya memohon kebenaran Mahkamah untuk meneruskan hujahan saya dalam Bahasa Inggeris.

If it is so pleases Yang Arif, may I introduce the Petitioner, Diana Ling Fan Phing.

The Petitioner is the eldest child in the family and was born on the 24th January 1984 in  Kuala Lumpur to Mr Ling Kho Kooi and Madam Ling King Eng.   The Petitioner received her primary education at S.R.J.K. (C) Pei Min, Segari Perak  Darul Ridzuan from 1991 to 1996 and subsequently received her secondary education  at Lahad Datu Independent School in Sabah. The petitioner was very active in her school activities and was the head prefect in year 2001, the President of Interact Club,  the Chief Editor of her school magazine, member of her school debate team, member of her school Bahasa Malaysia forum team and the member of her school Tri-Language speech team. The Petitioner enjoys all kinds of art, jazz music, reading and cooking.

Despite all her interest and passion for art and designs, the Petitioner decided to pursue Law in Inti University College, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The Petitioner read her LLB Degree from Northumbria University of Newcastle, United Kingdom in 2005.

The Petitioner then sat for her Certificate in Legal Practice in Brickfields Asia College and thereafter passed the exam in year 2009. The Petitioner then commenced her mandatory 9 months pupilage in the chambers of Mr Kingston Tan Teck Kiong of Heiley Hassan, Tan & Partners.

Today, the Petitioner expresses her deepest gratitude to her Heavenly Father for all His blessings throughout her life. The Petitioner also expresses her heartiest gratitude to her parents for their unconditional love, understanding and unfailing support in her pursuit of becoming a qualified lawyer. The Petitioner would also like to specially express her gratitude to her younger brother, Mr John Ling for his words of encouragement and advice whenever the Petitioner is feeling down and discouraged.

In addition, the Petitioner also wishes to take this opportunity to make special mention and record her heartfelt appreciation to her Master Mr Kingston Tan and his other partners Ms Tan Lee Koon and Mr Kwong Ho Qong for their invaluable advice and unceasing guidance throughout her pupilage.

The Petitioner would also like to extend her gratitude to her CLP “battle mate”, Ms Wendy Lim, who had never left the Petitioner alone during the “war time”. The Petitioner felt honoured and blessed to have known her since their college time. The Petitioner would also like to express her appreciation to all her Seniors who had been there to lend a hand for their guidance and advice and to all her friends for being able to avail themselves this morning to witness and to partake in this meaningful occasion.

I verily believe that all cause papaers are complete and in order and that the Petitioner is a qualified person. I also believe that my learned friends have no objection to this Petition.

Therefore, Yang Arif, I humbly pray that this Honourable Court admit and register Diana Ling Fan Phing as an Advocate & Solicitor of this Honourable Court.

Much obliged, Yang Arif.
I hereby crave leave for the Master of the Petitioner, Mr Kingston Tan to robe the Petitioner.
