Bridging Cultures and Building Peace: A Night to Unite the World
On February 16, 2025, Rotary Club Pudu, under the leadership of Project Chairman PP Alex Chang, joined hands with our esteemed collaboration partner, Rotary Club Songkhla, to host an extraordinary World Understanding Night in Thailand. This remarkable event embodied Rotary’s commitment to Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, one of our seven Areas of Focus, by fostering cross-cultural dialogue and international goodwill through shared traditions.
The evening was a vibrant celebration of unity, where President Benjamin of RC Pudu captivated attendees with a mesmerizing showcase of Kadazan-Dusun culture—highlighting its rich heritage through traditional dances, authentic delicacies, and captivating storytelling.
In turn, RC Songkhla, led by President Wiparat Petcharat, presented the beauty of Thai traditions with rare culinary specialties and an enchanting dance performance, offering guests a deeper appreciation of Thailand’s cultural tapestry.
More than just an event, this gathering was a powerful initiative to strengthen bonds, nurture friendships, and pave the way for lasting peace. By bridging Malaysian and Thai cultures, we reaffirmed Rotary’s mission to create a more harmonious world—one connection at a time.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants, partners, and supporters who made this night an unforgettable testament to Rotary’s unifying spirit.
Together, we don’t just understand the world—we bring it closer.
