Wui Ay Hui, fondly known to her friends as Crystal and my learned friends representing the Honourable Attorney General\u2019s Chambers has been introduced earlier.<\/p>\n

My Lord I am obliged that\u00a0 Miss Lee Peck Ha will now appear for both the Bar Council and Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee.<\/p>\n

My Lord, <\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Petitioner was born in Malacca,\u00a0 the oldest city on the Straits of Malacca to a wonderful couple of MR WUI SEE KIM and MADAM TAN SIEW HAR, who are both presents here today.<\/p>\n

I crave leave for them to be introduced.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Your Petitioner is the youngest child in the family.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Your Petitioner told me that it was the best gift since sliced bread that in 1795\u00a0 the British traded with the Dutch, the city of\u00a0 Batavia (now known of course as Jakarta) in Indonesia for Malacca, otherwise she would be speaking Dutch now…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My Lord, <\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Petitioner confessed that it was never her life-long dream to be a lawyer.\u00a0 Jet setting making international money was more appealing to the young petitioner.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Not sure about the Berkin\u00a0 bags<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She told me that when she was studying at the Notre Dame Convent in Malacca she was very inspired by Ja Lo…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I asked was it Joe Lo?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She said, no\u00a0 Sir, it is Jennifer Lopez…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2012, Your Petitioner attained her Higher School Certificate from the famous Malacca High School was admitted by\u00a0 the\u00a0 University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to study\u00a0 International Business.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, Your Petitioner soon found out that she did not have much interest in that course,\u00a0\u00a0 as international business is already in the blood of the Malaccans, as they enjoyed international trading since the fourteenth century with the Indonesian, Indian, Chinese,\u00a0\u00a0 Portuguese, and eventually the British.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wherefore Your Petitioner went home to pursue a challenging law degree in the Multimedia\u00a0 University at Malacca. Your Petitioner will always remember what her High School teacher said \u2013 \u201cShort Term Pain, Long Term Gain\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thereafter, Your Petitioner commenced her pupillage at Messrs. Anad & Noraini in the chambers\u00a0 of a senior associate, Ms Navamalar Ganesan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My Lord, <\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Petitioner was assigned to the Dock Brief Programme for her legal aid duty,\u00a0 the satisfaction and happiness in helping the under privileged entrenched her conviction of becoming a lawyer.<\/p>\n

My Lord<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

On this memorable day, the Petitioner would like to seize this opportunity to record her appreciation to her parents and her dearest sister, Ms Wui Ay Jen, in the journey pursuing Your Petitioner\u2019s dream.<\/p>\n

Your Petitioner is blessed to have parents and sister who are always by her side whenever she felt lost, stressed and almost wanted to give up.\u00a0 She thanks them for all the guidance, support, love and care to her.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is\u00a0 Your Petitioner\u2019s humble wish\u00a0 that her parents are proud of her achievement to be the first lawyer in the family.<\/p>\n

The Petitioner would like to thank her pupil mistress, Ms Navamalar for her willingness to share her experiences, thoughts, wisdom and guidance with her.<\/p>\n

Your Petitioner would also like to thank Dato\u2019 Anad Krishnan Muthusamy, Miss Wan Nazma, Mr Anpalagar, Ms Sharmini, Ms Leena, Ms Lisa-Premee Davis, Ms Lishani\u00a0 and all the pupils at Messrs. Anad & Noraini for providing a conducive learning environment to the Petitioner during her pupillage.<\/p>\n

I believe that Your Petitioner is a fit and proper person to be admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Wherefore, I humbly pray that Your Petitioner be admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of High Court of Malaya.<\/p>\n
