Your Petitioner, Lee Ai Yin hails from a small town called Ayer Tawar in Perak.\u00a0 I have met quite a few young lawyers from this peaceful town, which took its name from the beautiful Sungai Ayer Tawar.<\/h5>\n

She is the youngest of the five daughters of her parents, Mr. Lee Ting Yun and Madam Chan Choon Len.<\/h5>\n
My Lady,<\/h5>\n
I crave leave for her proud parents to be introduced.<\/h5>\n

Your Petitioner read laws at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and upon graduation read in the chambers of Messrs Kwong & Hwang under the tutelage of my learned friend, Miss PC Chew who is also present today.<\/h5>\n

Since she was a little girl, having her parents and her three sisters working as teachers, your Petitioner was overwhelmed by\u00a0 quotes such as:<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
\u201cA good teacher is like a candle- it consumes itself to light the way the way for others\u2026<\/em>\u201d<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
After her pupillage under the tutelage of Miss Chew, Your\u00a0 Petitioner believes that being a lawyer will also light the way for the others by the correct application of the law.<\/h5>\n

Being the youngest child in the family, your Petitioner was\u00a0 never short of anything.<\/h5>\n

While she was growing up, your Petitioner remembers the days when her father, a very learned retired teacher brought her to the library every week in order to instil the habit of reading in her.\u00a0 The library days, she calls it, was a period which she brought back books from mysteries to histories…<\/h5>\n

Your Petitioner\u2019s mother\u00a0 taught her to accept failures and encouraged her to do better next time.<\/h5>\n

Your Petitioner would like to record her appreciation towards her pupil mistress, Miss PC Chew.<\/h5>\n
Your Petitioner\u2019s nine months of pupillage under the wings of Miss Chew has been a most rewarding one. From drafting correspondence to pleadings in court, Miss Chew has been pertinent to guide your Petitioner to be a fit and proper person and\u00a0 to be passionate in her profession.<\/h5>\n

And of course My Lady, Your Petitioner will\u00a0 Not\u00a0 forget everyone in Messrs Kwong & Hwang for their kindness and assistance that made the tough times a fairytale.<\/h5>\n

As the saying goes, \u201cno man is an island\u201d. Your Petitioner would like to seize this opportunity to thank all her friends, who have always been there for her through\u00a0 rain and sunshine.\u00a0 Your Petitioner also wishes to extend her heartfelt gratitude to all her friends who took time off\u00a0 to\u00a0 be with her today.<\/h5>\n
