{"id":4177,"date":"2016-11-11T11:02:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-11T03:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alexchanglaw.com\/?p=4177"},"modified":"2024-11-29T17:05:30","modified_gmt":"2024-11-29T09:05:30","slug":"admission-bar-wong-wai-chee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alexchanglaw.com\/index.php\/admission-bar-wong-wai-chee\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission to the Bar of Wong Wai Chee Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Long Call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Date\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 : November 9,\u00a0 2016 (Wednesday)<br \/>Time\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0: 10am<br \/>Court\u00a0\u00a0 : Kuala Lumpur High Court<\/p>\n<h3>Judge\u00a0 : Herladyship Madam Justice Dato Nik Hasmat \u00a0Nik Mohamad<\/h3>\n<p>(Petition No: 18-1617-12\/2015)<\/p>\n<p>If it pleases you My Lady,<\/p>\n<h3>Alex Chang\u00a0 appearing\u00a0 for\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WONG WAI CHEE\u00a0 Your humble Petitioner.<\/h3>\n<p>My Lady,<\/p>\n<p>Your Petitioner, WONG WAI CHEE was born\u00a0 in Perak to the wonderful couple of MR WONG SOOI SIN and MADAM CHOI SEW KAIN who are present with us this morning, I humbly crave leave for them to be recognised.<\/p>\n<p>Your\u00a0 Petitioner is the second and youngest child in the family.<\/p>\n<p>Your Petitioner completed her pre-university education at Seafield Secondary School, Subang Jaya.\u00a0 Your\u00a0 Petitioner then read laws at the Brickfields Asia College\u00a0 and was conferred\u00a0\u00a0 an LLB degree\u00a0\u00a0 with Honours.\u00a0 She\u00a0 later\u00a0 completed\u00a0 her Certificate in Legal Practice.\u00a0 Soon after that, the Petitioner began her pupillage in the\u00a0 Law Chamber of Dahlia Lee &amp; Co under the tutelage of my classmate, learned and good friend Ms. Dahlia Lee Wooi Mien.<\/p>\n<p>A little secret about Your Petitioner, before she read laws, she tried her stint at Mathematics and Economics, however, she found out something\u00a0 about the economists which did not appeal to her:<\/p>\n<h3>&#8220;Economics is the only field that two people can get a Nobel Prize for saying exactly the opposite thing&#8230;&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>Then she decided, if at all, we are going to say exactly the opposite thing, which is much like the way we argue in court ALL the time.\u00a0 My Lady, the Deputy Public Prosecutor\u00a0\u00a0 will ask for &#8220;Guilty as charged&#8221; the defence counsel will say\u00a0 &#8220;My client is innocent and should walk free&#8230;&#8221;, then she\u00a0 thought, she\u00a0\u00a0 might as well switch course to study LAWS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>My Lady, the rest is history.<\/p>\n<p>On this memorable day, Your Petitioner would like to seize this opportunity to record her appreciation to her parents and grandparents for the unconditional love,\u00a0 financial and moral support throughout her years of studies.<\/p>\n<p>Your Petitioner would also like to express her heart felt appreciation\u00a0 to her close friends and former coursemates, Miss Lau Yuet Sian and Miss Oon Eileen, who have always been there for her through thick and thin.<br \/>I think My Lady, her friends may received\u00a0\u00a0 the thick part and Your Petitioner only keep the thin part&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>During her pupillage in the Law Chamber of Dahlia Lee &amp; Co, Your Petitioner was given the\u00a0 opportunities to be involved hands-on amongst others, in a construction\u00a0\u00a0 and a Court of Appeal matter.\u00a0\u00a0 These experiences made her realised that being a lawyer is not as easy or glamorous as popular television shows \u2013 like Suits and Law &amp; Order&#8230;\u00a0 Truth hurts&#8230; sometimes.<br \/>Be that as it may, Your Petitioner admits that she has chosen her ideal career path as she finds it challenging yet exciting to deal with the clients.<\/p>\n<p>With respect to the Clients, this is how she describes them, quoting Clint Eastwood:\u00a0 the good,\u00a0 the bad and\u00a0 the ugly,\u00a0 all interesting in their own ways.<\/p>\n<p>The clients\u00a0 have challenged her with questions that are always different and intellectually stimulating &#8211;
