What Inspired Me to Study Law<\/p>\n
In my opinion, law plays a very important role in our society, law is a system of rules that is enforced to govern behaviours. If the crime rate in any country is high, the indication is that law is left behind and not being followed.<\/p>\n
I come from a very humble family, my father is a self-employed land broker whom has to work with lawyers most of the time. During my breaks in the university, I often helped my dad out with his work and have picked up some useful knowledge and skills from him. It has inspired me to pursue my aspiration as a lawyer when I saw how my father’s problems were solved by the lawyers. After years of following my father in his line of work, I have met lawyers whom were ethical, fought for the rights of their clients and tried their best in the prevention of fraud and deception.<\/p>\n
At the same time, I have also seen unethical lawyers who would help businessmen\u00a0 cheat the transfer of the title of a real property for their own benefits. Through these experiences, I realised that it is important for lawyers to act ethically and it has strengthen my will to pursue law so that I could do my part in fighting for the rights of people to make my country a better society.<\/p>\n
My short attachment in Alex CHANG & Co gave me an insight as to what legal work looks like, and I can say the experience of working in a legal office is truly different. Though short, I managed to develop a few key skills such as, my interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and I was also able to perfectly integrate as part of the ACC team within the short period of time.<\/p>\n
