Joining Alex Chang & Co. has been another life lesson for me.\u00a0 I can remember\u00a0 many instances when\u00a0 I was too eager to learn up new pratical knowledge about legal work when I was in the law school. It was during June 2013, a short but valuable experience working, or rather a learning experience, I would say, in this law firm.<\/p>\n
\u52a0\u5165Alex Chang& Co\u662f\u6211\u4eba\u751f\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u8bfe\u7a0b\u3002\u5f53\u6211\u5728\u6cd5\u5f8b\u5b66\u9662\u65f6\uff0c
It\u2019s not just about learning to do legal work, it\u2019s also about observing day-to-day running of a legal business.<\/p>\n
\u8fd9\u4e0d\u5355\u5355\u53ea\u8ba9\u6211\u5b66\u4e60\u5230\u5982\u4f55\u5904\u7406\u6cd5\u5f8b\u76f8\u5173\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\uff0c
It\u2019s fun and thrilling to have worked with a great corporate lawyer and been able to observe real trials in court.\u00a0 A lot of law students fascinate to join big law firms for the sake of the feeling of approval, or admiration.\u00a0 But too often, as I heard and saw from the experience of my peers, they\u2019re tied with office work, and often deprived of their much needed real-life experience in observing court trial, or their communication with their bosses are too often impersonal, which deprived them of the opportunity to clear some doubts about the mystified working of law firms.<\/p>\n
\u80fd\u591f\u5f97\u5230\u4e0e\u4e00\u4f4d\u8fd9\u4e48\u4f1f\u5927\u7684\u4f01\u696d\u5f8b\u5e08\u4e00\u8d77\u5de5\u4f5c\u548c\u89c2\u5bdf\u5230\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u53f8\u6cd5\u5ba1
I have learnt about preparing court documents, filing court documents and some basic legal work such as researching and inevitable paper work. It\u2019s a privilege to meet and to have worked with Mr Alex Chang, he\u2019s busily engaged yet approachable, an expert of his own field yet he\u2019s humble and friendly.<\/p>\n
\u6211\u5b66\u4f1a\u4e86\u5982\u4f55\u51c6\u5907\u6cd5\u5ead\u6587\u4ef6\uff0c\u63d0\u4ea4\u6cd5
There is a family atmosphere in the office working with Mr Alex Chang\u00a0 and his staff.\u00a0 Much thanks to Miss Lim Soo Zee, Mr Chang\u2019s pupil turned legal assistant;\u00a0 Ms Janice and Ms Chow (Mr Chang\u2019s assistants for 16 years as at 2015); and the then Pupil in Chambers\u00a0 Raja Madihah for their help and patience in guiding me during that one-month period.\u00a0 I would have completed my 3-month attachment with Mr Alex Chang if not for the sudden participation in a moot competition. Even\u00a0 after leaving the firm, I have always received texts from Mr Alex Chang inviting me over for dinners (as my family is far away), which is so kind of him to do so.<\/p>\n
\u5728\u529e\u516c\u5ba4\u4e0e\u5f20\u5927\u5f8b\u5e08\u548c\u4ed6\u7684\u5458\u5de5\u4e00\u8d77\u5de5\u4f5c\u65f6\u4f1a\u611f\u89c9\u5230\u4e00\u80a1\u5bb6\u5ead\u6c14\u6c1b\u3002
Mr Alex Chang gave unyielding support to me for me to prepare for the moot competition. After I left the firm the following month, he still cares about my study, my results and competition.\u00a0 It is a great feeling that there\u2019s this one great mentor who cares about his ex-attachment students.<\/p>\n
\u5bf9\u4e8e\u6211\u6a21\u62df\u6cd5\u5ead\u7684\u8d5b\u524d\u51c6\u5907\uff0c\u5f20\u5927\u5f8b\u5e08\u4e5f\u5951\u800c\u4e0d\u820d\u7684\u7ed9\u4ee5\u652f\u6301\u3002\u3002
Wonderful thanks to Mr Alex Chang and all the staff. They have been excellent friends, teachers, mentors and a great inspiration for me.<\/p>\n
\u611f\u8c22\u5f20\u5927\u5f8b\u5e08\u548c\u6240\u6709\u7684\u5458\u5de5\u4eec\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u4e00\u76f4\u90fd\u662f\u6211\u4f18\u79c0\u7684\u670b\u53cb\uff0c\u8001\u5e08\uff0c
I truly appreciate and value everything I have learned here.\u00a0 It will remain a major contribution behind my path to becoming a lawyer. I really look forward to the day I can do the same great work for others.<\/p>\n
