SPEECH FOR ADMISSION TO THE BAR: MISS HANNAH TEH KIAO HUOI on August 15, 2014<\/p>\n

If it Pleases You My Lady, I believe that counsel for the relevant parties have already been introduced.<\/p>\n

I crave leave to say a few words about Your Petitioner before I pray for the usual orders.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your humble\u00a0 Petitioner hails from Taiping, Perak, is the eleventh child of the 14 children of the proud and\u00a0 loving couple\u00a0\u00a0 to Mr. Teh Seong Huat and Madam Lee Siew Eng.<\/p>\n

The Petitioner was an industrious and diligent\u00a0 student, she finished\u00a0\u00a0 top at her high school, the Simpang Secondary School in\u00a0 Perak. it is not surprising that Your Petitioner was\u00a0 Public Services
\nCommission, Public Services Commission (JPA) scholar.\u00a0 She\u00a0 then read\u00a0 laws at the prestigious National University of Malaysia and in June 2013, she was conferred\u00a0 a Second Class Degree in the Upper Division.<\/p>\n

I would like to take a few minutes to inform your Ladyship about Your Petitioner’s other interests in\u00a0 life.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Apart from\u00a0 her\u00a0 academic achievements, the Petitioner has many other ECA.\u00a0\u00a0 She told me, she\u00a0 is a\u00a0\u00a0 sports person.\u00a0\u00a0 She was the School and University representative in various sports, basketball, netball\u00a0 and volleyball are her favourite.\u00a0 Besides\u00a0 she is also a Taekwondo Black Belt holder since 7 years\u00a0 ago.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Also a First Aider\u00a0 to the ones YP defeats in Taekwondo and\u00a0 if assistance is needed she can render\u00a0 first aid immediately.\u00a0\u00a0 She was active in participating in\u00a0 all\u00a0 the\u00a0 programs under the Red Crescent Society during her university life.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, charity comes easily to her too as she always goes to the charity club such as Kechara Soup Kitchen to help out in distributing\u00a0 the food\u00a0 to\u00a0 those homeless people around KL area.<\/p>\n

My lady,
\nThe Petitioner commenced pupilage under the guidance of Mr. Ngan Teck Keong of Messrs Ngan Arifah & Chai.\u00a0\u00a0 To her master, the Petitioner expresses her gratitude for his teaching, not only in legal knowledge but also the life experience.<\/p>\n

The Petitioner would like to\u00a0 convey her\u00a0 love, gratitude\u00a0 and\u00a0 appreciation to\u00a0 her parents and all her\u00a0 sibling, especially\u00a0 her second\u00a0 sister and\u00a0 second\u00a0 brother in law\u00a0 (Ms Shirley Teh and Mr. Leong Kok\u00a0 Pin), third\u00a0 sister and third brother in law (Ms Chelsea Teh and Mr. Alvin Voon) and also her elder brother, Mr. Teh Bun Ee.\u00a0\u00a0 The Petitioner also would like to thanks to his eldest brother, Mr. Teh Chang Kang\u00a0 for coming all\u00a0 the\u00a0 way\u00a0 to KL just\u00a0 to attend\u00a0 this auspicious occasion today.\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 Petitioner would like to\u00a0 thanks all\u00a0 of\u00a0 them for\u00a0 giving\u00a0\u00a0 their\u00a0 undivided moral support and financial support throughout these few years.<\/p>\n

The Petitioner would also like to record her utmost appreciation to her colleagues in Messrs Ngan Arifah & Chai. They are Ms Sherleen, Ms Tan, Ms Xing, Ms Delia and Mr. James. They had guided her well in the nine months and assist her in acquiring a better foundation for her future.<\/p>\n

The Petitioner would also like to state her gratitude, Ms Lim Soo Zee and Raja Madihah,\u00a0\u00a0 in assisting\u00a0 her for the preparation for the\u00a0 ceremony today.<\/p>\n

Last but definitely not least, Your Petitioner would also like to thank her comrades, peers, seniors, lecturers and everyone who had directly or indirectly having shared their past experience and inspired the Petitioner’s outburst enthusiasm towards the profession.\u00a0\u00a0 The Petitioner is regretful for not able to mention their names one by one but their\u00a0 encouragement\u00a0 and motivation to the Petitioner\u00a0 will be reminisced.<\/p>\n

My Lady,
\nThe Petitioner is a fit and proper person to be admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor.
\nI verily believe that all cause papers are in order and there is no objection from the Attorney General’s Chamber, the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee against the Petitioner.
\nAccordingly, I humbly pray that the Honourable Court grants an order that the Petitioner to be admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of this Honourable Court.<\/p>\n
