The Petitioner first degree was not law, she read International Finance at the University Malaysia Sabah where she graduated with a Second Class Honours in the year of 2012.

Petitioner has set her mind on becoming a lawyer after she graduated from University Malaysia Sabah. At that time, motivated by her desire to give a voice to those disadvantaged by poverty, social class and inequality of starting gate, she aspires to provide legal representation to those vulnerable groups in the society.

The petitioner thereafter decided to pursue a law degree as her second undergraduate degree. The Petitioner read laws at the University of London External Programme where she graduated with a Second Class Honours in the year of 2016 and was duly conferred the Certificate of Legal Practice in 2018.

Thereafter, your Petitioner commenced her pupillage in Messrs Alex Chang & Co., under the tutelage of my learned friend Mr Alex Chang Huey Wah.

Along with the learning through the 9 months of pupilage, the Petitioner realised that, in any event, it is best to help yourself first before you may be able to help others.

Today, the Petitioner wishes to take this opportunity to express her gratitude to her mother. She would like to thank her mother for her unwavering support and encouragement, without which she would not have been able to achieve any of the milestones in her life.

The Petitioner would like to thank her pupil master, Mr Alex Chang for providing her with opportunities and guidance throughout her pupillage, and for enabling her to see the great art of advocacy, persuasion and negotiation skills from him, more particularly, in Company Law.

On this day, the Petitioner would like to specially thank to her friends who have supported her journey, especially to those who are in presence of the Court today.

The Petitioner would like to thank all her colleagues at Messrs Alex Chang & Co. for their patient guidance and assistance.

My Lord,

I believe all the Petitioner’s papers are in order and that my learned friends from the Attorney General’s Chambers, the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee respectively have no objections to this motion.
