Admission to the Malaysian Bar (Long Call) Speech
Name:     LEE MENG KAU
Date :      September 12, 2011

Admission Speech of
Mr Lee Meng Kau as an
Advocate
and Solicitor, High Court of
Malaya.

If it pleases you, My lady,

ALEX CHANG HUEY WAH, appear for the Petitioner, LEE MENG
KAU and my learned friends representing the Attorney General,
The Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee have
already been introduced earlier.

Before I move the court for usual Order, allow me a few minutes
to briefly introduce Your Petitioner to Your Ladyship and all
concerned.

Your Petitioner hails from Penang, the  first child of  Mr. & Mrs
Lee Kiang Tong.

Your petitioner, LEE MENG KAU read law at the University of
West of England, United Kingdom. Thereafter, your Petitioner
obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice and  underwent his
pupillage at Messrs Anuar Hong & Ong, reading in the chambers
of Mr. Hong Kim Piow.

For outdoor activities, Your Petitioner is  a foot baller, we have a
common favorite name.  Beckam, but, his favorite is David, mine
is Victoria.

One  secret of Your Petitioner.  we have all heard, the pen is
mightier than the sword. Your Petitioner actually tested this
cliche.   One day, he sat before his 12 Pet Fishes and read an
article on the tsunami in Japan.  All the fishes were so touched by
his story, they all died the next day.

I told Your Petitioner that the next time when he is in court for a
winding up petition, I would like to be excused.  Your Ladyship is
not in the commercial division for the time being, and will also be
alright.

My Lady,

According to Your Petitioner  an important advice from Mr. Hong
Kim Piow which he will remember always is that,  the key to be a
great lawyer is efficiency and never be a deserter from any
trouble.

My Lady,

On this memorable day for  your Petitioner, would like to take this
opportunity to record his appreciation to his parents  for their
endless tender love and care, moral and  of course, financial
support.

He also like to  thank  his siblings, teachers, lecturers and friends
for their prayers and guidance.  He would like to also record his
everlasting appreciation to his Master Mr. Hong Kim Piow,  the
best teacher he has encountered.

Your Petitioner is also indebted to his good friend, Mr. Justin
Hong Shiung Leong for sharing the up times n down times during
his law studies and pupillage.

Looking back at the pupillage, Your Petitioner expresses his
utmost gratitude to all the partners, lawyers and staff of Messrs
Anuar Hong & Ong especially Miss Koh Hui   Yin, Ms. Theresa
Wong and Ms. Shamala for taking the time and effort to make the
Petitioner's pupilage a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Of course And Thank you to all his friends who are present here
today.

My Lady,

I believe that Your Petitioner is a fit and proper person to be
admitted n enrolled as  an Advocate and Solicitor of the High
Court of Malaya   and that my learned friends have no objections.

Wherefore I humbly pray for an order in terms of the Petition.
I am obliged.

PAUSE

My lady, unfortunately Mr Hong, the Master of Your Petitioner is
not able to join us today.  I therefore crave leave from Your
